Re: Narnia Tour - Props Needed URGENTLY!

Leanne for you money you should speak to Dave at http://www.grunal.com/
He has made money for many TV programs, and the Mint. He would probably be able to make you a special commission for this.

Regards

Re: New Trader

I concur with Fox, I dont think that you have been given a hard time you asked for criticism and to steal the phrase from the Rocky Horror Picture Show "And you shall have it in abundance". There are a lot of very skilled and learned IT, and retail people on this forum; and they have given...

Re: New Trader

Can I just query, you page on Helmets states that all your helmets are re-enactment quality, and are made out of 18 Gauge steel. Unless this is sprung steel, I would be suprised if many groups would allow helmets to be made out of such a thin metal. I would have thought 12 or 14 gauge would be the n...

You also want to look at the book Arms and Armour from the Battle Of Wisby by Bengt Thordeman This is a primary source document for all the finds at Wisby, and contains pictures, archeaology, history. And is brilliant, I love my copy. As to your COP, if you look at the book by Carlo, which I have a ...

Actually There are several types of Wisby, and as to it being appropriate for the 14th Century, well the battle was 1361, so later parts yes. But whether its so widespread, well I don't know. There is a part of me that says that we make more of it here than we should because, its quite asy to make. ...

One of the guys I work with he has a warbow. And his is based on teh pundage and strangth of those on the Mary rose, and when he shoots his, its much more of a fluid motion. It is sort of a bend, pull, aim loose. I have tried to draw this bow, and I nearly dragged my man bits into my throat with the...

Yeah getting the length right was the biggest lesson I learned. The advice I received and know makes perfect sense is that it should finish just above the crease when somebody bends over, it means that the movement is then not impeded.

Mythos, thats what I do I only make armour for me and my missus at the moment as I can't be arsed with being chased so I go and do a bit when I can be bothered as I want to get it right. And doing as little welding as possible (and eventually doing what ever welding is required using the forge) I do...

Can Something G23B told me, when I did a painting course with him. That it's more important to get the colours right rather than the authenticity of the paints. I don't know whther he still agrees with that, but it has always made sense too me. And having tried to make my own paints I see the sense ...

Mythos,BTW Nice Armour I like it very much. But again, what you did is not unlike visiting armourers in Germany and Milan. Was it for the final fit that you went to see them? It was chancy but the results obviously paid off.

Sir Thomas Hylton, I disagree with you, lots of people do by the best quality armour for themselves to fight in, as it make the hobby easier. Colin, I think that your right I don't actually think that there are stylistic differences between male or femal. Narveks friend has sent me a wide range of gloves from winter, working, falconry and dress.
