Re: Lincoln Xmas Market

Hopefully, there won't be any parking in front of the palace this year. It spoilt the whole look of the event. totally agree with you, the vans looked awful. When you came through the path the vans blocked the flames and lights Chaz had put up, if the carpark had been miles away I could have unders...

Re: taking credit cards by phone at shows?

People often think Paypal is a fix all solution but I do know people that have ended up with a sharp pain in the *rse because of it. :) same could be said of all banks, we have taken paypal payments on our laptop for years and the only problems we have had is the signal (or lack of it) dont suppose...

And a fab time was had by all  . Massive thanks to George for being a brilliant manager and worked his socks off, this will most definitely be back on next year same venue(fawlty towers) but different date to accommodate groups who wanted to come but had events, which was my fault because I...

Re: REMINDER - NMTF Historic Traders Branch AGM

I dont think thats an issue. A representative from the NMTF has been at every AGM I have been to, and the organisers of Tewks are well aware that its on, I dont think there is anywhere else where a lot of Traders will be, we are all spread all over the place and for us at least if it was not somewhe...

Re: REMINDER - NMTF Historic Traders Branch AGM

trouble is some people's idea of advertising and other people's ideas can be somewhat different, unless its an event we have been to before we have a list of questions we ask before we send the pitch fee, couple of years ago we actually pulled out of an event not an historic one I might add because ...

Re: Looking for a longbow

I know most vendors sell horn slivers in 1/8" slices, but that's probably more to do with (their) cost and time than accuracy. That's because that's the size they come in, unless we buy big pieces and I have to sit and cut them up. You are absolutley correct in that Its a compromise between what pe...

Re: Looking for a longbow

Horn inserts are a bit difficult for a beginner, I remember when we started making them it was hard enough without an added complication and to be perfectly honest even though we do sell them unless you have a heavy bow they are not neccesary very pretty though they are, and we have never used hot g...

Re: Looking for a longbow

Thank you for the suggestions, but I'm not changing my mind on this matter. However if anyone could recommend a place where I can get crossbow bolts I would be very grateful. I've found quite a few places that do longbow arrows, but not that many that do bolts. Hi, I have sent you email and a priva...

Re: Charles I and the Civil War

It will give you a pretty good idea on why the common people were fed up and why parliament felt they had to do what they had to at the end. well I know this is not my period BUT, I think common people have been fed up with them whats in charge for as long as there have been common people, and I al...
