Canvas Cleaning?!

Hello guys. Have just taken my tent out the shed to get it ready for an event this weekend. And found a bloody great hole in the roof where it must of been leaking for some time as my tent is soaked right through. Fortunetly its not rotten but its an unhealthy black colour in places with...

Re: Live Target

Our victim for this uses his heater shield to cover his groin. However the ladies on camp noticed he gradually raises it as the arrows fly in. So they started aiming high, getting his shield up then dropping aim to his now exposed jewels!

City of Norwich Militia 1355.

Hello guys.

Does anyone have anything on the City of Norwich Militia from the 14thC please? So far I've managed to find the Rolls of View of arms 1355. But any other information you have would be gratefully received.

Many thanks.

Napoleon: Warriors

On the History channel now, "Series examining the ambition, genius and courage that made histories most famous warriors stand above the rest." looks quite promising, this one covering the early years of Napoleon's rise through the ranks. Something I've not seen covered much before. I admit it's not ...

Re: The Archers A New Society

A few of our club archers are interested in helping out with this too. I also know some longbowmen that aren't part of any LH group that may be interested. Give me the nod and I can put the word about at the local Archery clubs.

I've always used a grinder with a rubber backed sanding disk, gives a nice satin finish.

Re: Piercings throughout history.

Most definitely not a good idea while wearing armour, still got the scar.

I didn't think it was common, but as it was known in other area's throughout history, I was wondering if it was known in europe? when did they first appear? and if there was periods when it went in and out of fashion why?

Can you identify this?

My father rescued this from a skip over 20 odd years ago, since then its been sitting in his shed, occasionally used on a camping trip. There's alot of rust so the markings are almost indistinguishable. What I can make out is on the axe blade: World Pat' Pick: (possibly) Acrow Tool. There was also a...

Piercings throughout history.

Hi, Is there much if any reference for facial or body piercings throughout history in Europe? I currently portray an English archer of the 14th century. And while I know it's unlikely that they would have any piercings, I was wondering if it was possible? I know piercings have been around since year...
