hmm bit of a guess here but claymores were atleast owned in general by at least a landowner as the exspense of such an item, presumably it was wrapped and placed on the horse as a rich landowner, knight sort of person would undoubtedly have a horse then obviously in battle it was rested off the hip,...

To become over-familiar with one weapon is as much a fault as not knowing it sufficiently well. You should not copy others, but use weapons which you can handly...

go with an armourclass hanger if you can get one if you like the hack slash sort of style. if you buy off the website i think its more expensive atm but i know when they were in torm recently they were £130 which good also i heard they have also extended the length of the guarantee

thanks for the input and yes i ahd heard a similar story and hopefuly il set up my own branch or group and set some decents safety guidelines such as quality of swords and weapons etc

i just find them to be quality for the price really at gdfb i have one of their original great helms my leader sold on to me 12 gauge top and 14 sides and now i couldnt imagine doing a full contact tournament without it

a good group for learning cavalry skill is the sealed knot in all fairness to them if nothing else they have bloody good cavalry and good trainers (saying that so do ecws)
