Re: British 1908 Webbing

Yes Schipperfabrik look good, I'm just starting out in Great War living history, so I've got a lot to learn, and want to get the best I can.

British 1908 Webbing

Where is the best place to order (within the UK), British, Great War, 1908 webbing,( battle order), and can you get it with water bottle, entrenching tool, and bayonet? How long can it take for an order to be processed? I have contacted a couple of places, but had no response yet from any of them. A...

Didn't realise what a short *rse I am, my own fault for standing next to Neil and Dave.

I shall make note in future to stand in ranks with much shorter people, any one doing Bantam battalions.

I'm very interested in this period, I've got later 17th century lowland kit, Dumbartons uniform and I've been trying to get a renactment of Dunkeld going.
Its a much neglected period.

Prices of everyday objects

I am trying to find prices of everyday objects that people would buy at this period, e.g. loaves of bread, milk, flour, meat etc. also things like material. Can anyone suggest any books or references please?

Thanks to both for your information, when I said good ones I of course meant decent groups that strive to get things right.
Though I am mainly interested in British or French.
Where is your Gordons unit based John I would appreciate any info.

Thanks for your support Neil, I completed it as I started, musket on shoulder, sword on hip. Willie finished as well, in spite of a few blisters, he wouldn't give in. Jude supplied us all with water through the night at various points. Some good photos in the papers, and money raised for the Erskine...

There was a Canadian film about Passchendaele coming out it was advertised in skirmish mag. I take it I've missed it, maybe it didn't come to Aberdeen. Cant even see it on Dvd.

I've only read a couple Trantors when I was a teenager and could never realy get into the since. I was introduce to this one bloke said he was realy into Scottish history and how many Nigal Trantors had I read, of coarse he was delighted as he had read more than me.
