Foot and Yard rulers were used by carpenters
Example of the markings on the rulers are to be found at the Mary Rose Museum or in the "Before the Mast" book of artefacts from the ship.

Likewise powdered egg is still available to buy today.

Re: For Sale - 17th Century Shoes Red Size 6 wide fitting
I was under the impression that people in the 1600's wore boots? Can I ask therefore who wore shoes? Sigh, don't even think you are being humorous, are you? Think you have watched too many episodes of Musketeers and Dogtanian. Everyone wore shoes at some point, only people who wore boots were those...

Re: Medieval Chest
Most timber merchants sell timber priced by the cubic foot rather than the American board foot. They tend not to sell boards in cut to size pieces, you have to buy the entire board. Prices tend to vary by thickness and width of boards, ramping up quite quickly. For Ash expect to pay £30 upwards a cu...

Re: Bill drill commands.
I have over two hundred drill manuals, the majority of which are C17.
They start to emerge in C16, earliest I have is 1550, but don't start to be common before 1575. That broadly coincides with when the shift to pike and shot armies begins to occur,

Re: As I am now in a position to do so
They are Elizabethan riding boots not like C17 boots, heel and toe shape completely different. The way you find prices out is you contact the trader and they tell you, rather than just wondering about it. The absolute bargain bucket for a pair of boots is going to be in the £120-150 from the lower e...

Re: As I am now in a position to do so
Erm. What were these garments described to you as, on the invoice?
I am sorry to say the best thing I could say about them is, yes they are garments.
They might be adequate for pantomime, but sadly nothing else. They bear no resemblance to any English C17 Garment I am aware of.

Re: As I am now in a position to do so
Is the picture distorted? Seems to be a lot of jacket and very little leg. Are the blue leggings modern or part of the supplied garment? The outer garment might pass as a jump coat for riding with some work. The inner garment seems to have little shape and no sign of a waist or tabs. As to footwear ...

Ah so you are portraying a War Correspondent not Intelligence Corp. Does help if the question is accurate in the first instance. Crucially, they (war correspondents) received officer’s uniforms bearing green armbands – normally the insignia of the intelligence services - and the honorary rank of cap...

Apparently its genuine. EH never said in time for Tokyo, that bit was invented by the Gruinard. Comically the OP point about female jousters was also covered by the Gruinard the same day. https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2016/jun/23/women-to-take-on-men-in-medieval-jousts-at-english-heritage-site...

Re: civilian weapons
Weapons carrying was distinctly limited according to social status and income
Burgesses and Nobility are not lower class people, which the OP was asking about.
Servants operate under the auspices of their masters and carry weapons according their masters status.

I'm intrigued that a baldric is required, but not necessarily a sword. Given that the former is the support for the latter, seems a bit pointless.
French Musketeers of the nature specified in that picture have no equivalent in Wngland.

One could also be pedantic and say their is no such thing as a 6 pounder "Napoleon" There is:- Model 1841 6-Pounder. Model 1857 12-pounder, known as a "Napoleon" Putting the phrase "six pound model 1841 cannon drawing" in Google brings up a wide range of drawings on the Model 1841. One of the more o...
