Reenactment traveling to Europe post March 2019

Hi all My apologies if this question shows a lack of knowledge, but I hope people can help Many UK reenactors travel to Europe to events, and have done for decades. Will changes due to the Brexit situation change how that is done at present at all? Personally, I have no idea what the current rules r...

Hunting a Great Helm

Greetings everyone

Am looking to get an early to mid 13th century great helm - preferably one that can be made to fit me

It has been decades since I bought a new helm - any suggestions as to who would be worth contacting (and if they will be at TORM in November?)

Many thanks

Fully agree with Tanya's post Sartor are excellent, but be warned - not exactly cheap! Be wary when it comes to jewellry - a little is good, but from what I've seen, they did not go overboard for that in the 12th / 13th century. Re: Knight & Lady 'bling' - guidance/sources? (13thc.)

Start with the soft kit first - good quality linens and silks (as much decoration as you can)

A good pair of spurs for a knight is a must

Decorated belts, good cloaks and cloak brooches / pins

Keep along those lines, and you'll be fine

We'd have to come up with a design, but may will want quotes (the design will be very simple)

If you're at Milton Keynes, we can have a chat about it

Chanz Des Reis - 12th / early 13th century

‘Chanz des Reis’ (Norman French meaning ‘Song of the Kings’) is an historical reenactment society recreating civilian, military and ecclesiastical life during the Anglo-Norman and Angevin period (12th to early 13th centuries). Our principal period of interest is 1135 to 1216, covering the reigns of ...
