We are looking forward to the Autumn edition though. Most likely it will be Lady Malina (main designer, pattern cutter and seamstress o...

Re: Winter weather clothing?

eh, I have pushed De Berry out of my mind. It shows you that you chop wood with your hoses rolled down, in February. It is also ok to put your privates on display when you chat by the fireplace. I am not sure of I want to go that far in authenticity. http://pl.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Plik:Le...

Re: Winter weather clothing?

Those guys appear to be wearing a mix of gowns with open sleeves (the MTA shows a lovely one in green in the photos) and cloaks buttoned at the shoulder (common in the 15th C, or so I am told). It's quite interesting to see that guy on the right of the table wearing his hood UNDER his gown. Overlap...

I like the whole series "... in manuscripts" by the British Library. Some great pictures + plus excellent starting point for further reading and all of them are on amazon for peanuts. 5pound or even less each.

Re: Help IDing a shield

Hi, still no joy. I hope I will get some info soon as I am going to meet some BoN involved guys. Meanwhile I have shield related question myself. Does anyone know if these heart shaped shields are somehow related to the story? http://manuscriptminiatures.com/bible-historiale-part-1-francais-152/1214...

hi, personally, when it comes to hard labour I find loose clothing more comfortable. Which can be an option as seen below: http://www.sciencephoto.com/image/155859/530wm/C0093246-Blacksmithing-SPL.jpg (Spiegel des menschlichen Lebens. Mirror of Life . (Ausburg, Gunther Zainer, ca. 1475)

Re: medieval printed linen

Hi everyone, I wonder if they can be persuaded to do short runs of a different pattern - it might look a bit silly if every C14th re-enactor in the UK suddenly turns up in the red and black print... I don’t think it will be a problem, these fabrics have been printed as a one off project and will not...
