I quite agree Marcus - I'd like nothing more than to be a female non-femenist historian, shame I've got no qualifications or experience!! That sounds really good Marcus, I'll put it on my ever growing list of books to buy. I've read loads about the leading men of the era but not so much about the women, looking forward to reading it.

Brilliant brilliant brilliant book with a very disappointing ending, it was one that kept me reading till about 3 in the morning! MUCH better than Mr Brown's effort.

I was dragged up not far from Bosworth and had a fantastic Headmaster at Junior School who really got my imagination going on the War of the Roses so its been something I grew up around. Even my High School had WoTR connections, it's called Hastings and the Black Maunch was our school badge!

Anyone read the Diana Gabaldon books? I think the first one is called Cross stitch and they are along this theme, a woman from the C20th travel back in time to the run up to Culloden (sp?) through a stone circle. I quite like that idea, as long as you know how to get back again when you've had enough!
