I quite agree Marcus - I'd like nothing more than to be a female non-femenist historian, shame I've got no qualifications or experience!! Anyone read the Diana Gabaldon books? I think the first one is called Cross stitch and they are along this theme, a woman from the C20th travel back in time to the run up to Culloden (sp?) through a stone circle. I quite like that idea, as long as you know how to get back again when you've had enough!
