Barons Haven Freehold Medieval and Fantasy Themed Resort and EcoVillage.
| It is a large project to build a full scale 13th C style welsh castle, complete with a full sized town, surround fields, forests, wetlands and meadows.
It embraces the flavor of the celtic borderlands and also has several small settings planned to portray historicly related settings such as Yorvik and monasteries. All designed to allow full time habitation by participants.
The plan calls for a fantasy realm that is largely underground and located on the other side of a hill and forest so that it is both close to the historic areas for those that like the fantasy element of medieval belief, yet far enough away not to be seen or heard so it won't intrude on the historic portrayals.
Unlike the defunct legend court this is a well and carefully planned facility not done in a typical theme park style and is designed to be extremely Eco positive across the board.
The project has some excellent endorsements from top scientists, engineers, and themed industry designers from around the world.

Drudion
| Drudion are the only Welsh Dark Age and 13th century group around that actively encourage visitors into their encampment. They won an award at Military Odyssey 2001 for the 'Best Public Interaction' of the weekend. The children's battle that they stage is very funny but safe and the kids return time and again to take part.

Horse types are chosen to suit the period in question, (no 16hh thoughrough-breds in roman saddles!), and are owned and trained by ourselves. A small, professional band of riders completes the team.

Piercebridge.com
| This site is a good resource about a Roman military town in County Durham. It profiles the archaeological finding found in the River Tees where Dere Street crossed it close to it's Roman fort. The site also has a reconstruction of the village as it would have been in Roman times including the Fort, Vicus settlement, Bridge crossing and River Dam system. All-in-all a V.Good site.

Vortigern Studies
| Vortigern Studies is an initiative based in the Netherlands, dedicated to the study of the period between the Roman occupation of Britain and the Early Middle Ages.
This period, which is often called the Dark Ages, stretched roughly from AD 400 to 600. Vortigern Studies is mainly concerned with the events that brought about the changes from Roman Britain to Saxon England. We attempt to unravel the complex process that saw the ending of Roman influence in the lands across the Channel, and which ended with the occupation of Britain by the Anglo-Saxons. This study is different because it does not focus on the semi-legendary Arthur and the years immediately preceding him, but rather on the early years, focusing on the person of Vortigern instead.
Subjects for Vortigern Studies are therefore Vortigern and the 'Coming of the Saxons', Ambrosius, Merlin and several dark secrets about long-forgotten hill-forts in Wales... Wansdyke, a mysterious earthwork, stretching from Savernake Forest in Wiltshire across the Marlborough Downs and the Avon valley, where it follows the hills below Bath until it reaches a position on a hill-fort with a commanding view high above Bristol. Who built it? Was it the Saxons, Ambrosius, Vortigern or his enemies?
