I was asked to write something about Harry, Denys and their wedding because they were so busy. Harry thought I could probably come up with "something more interesting and especially funny" than he could. So he sent me guidelines as to what to say:-

A Message from Harry

"I guess the most important thing to say about us is why we're getting married, and that's something quite hard to say. If we could just say something somewhere about how much we want all our friends and family there because it's them who make that day for us. We could just have got married quietly with parents etc. at registry office if it was ALL just about Denys and me. But it's not - it's also about having a great big party where we can share our love for each other with our friends/family - the people who've kept us alive and together over the past 4 and a bit years. It's everyone's day as well as ours... and I'd like everyone to know that and to have fun - and RELAX etc. Sorry probably all sounds a bit glib, but it's the truth of the matter......".

Personally I think Harry said it all far better than anyone else ever could. We did relax and we did have fun. There are many kinds of weddings; we have seen many in the past and doubtless will see many more in the future, but few will be so sincerely meant or so memorable.

If only for the vast selection of cheeses.
