Susie Skibo made this kirtle from Drea Leed's pattern as well as me.
It's made from 'goose-turd green' cotton and laces up the side. The
skirt is cartridge pleated into the bodice. Susie is planning on
making a doublet to go with it some day. |

Here is my kirtle. It is calico dyed Spring Green colour and made using
Drea Leed's pattern. The only difference is that I box-pleated it
to the bodice rather than gathering it. You can see how it 'kicks'
under the bottom hoop of the farthingale. When worn with a petticoat underneath,
this problem is eliminated. Click

This is my petticoat. It is made using my friend Bess's pattern,
and is basically a tube of fabric with a box-pleated hem, pleated to a
waistband. You can see the pleats in the photo on the right. |
