Time Traders

16th Century Life
Authentically Portrayed

A Visitor Grabbing Event
for any Heritage Site

Welcome to an Experience
of Life in Eliabethan 1500's

The Time Traders are a group of historical re-enactors who portray life in the sixteenth century.
Specialising in the lower classes, they are able to authentically give a taste of what everyday existence was like for gypsies, wanderers and low players during a period of continual change.

Their skilled demonstrations include:

Wood Turning

Hand Braiding

Herbal Remedies

Spoon Making

Clothes Making

Tudor Songs

Traditional Games

Potage Cooking

From our long travels around native and foreign lands, we have many wonderous songs and tales which we would wish to pass on to others - and indeed when the bailiffs and constables are not about, we are not adverse to the old telling of fortunes!

All costumes are made authentically and are hand stitched to the standards of surviving costume or to primary sources.

Our attention to detail and accuracy to the period is meticulous and our aim is to create an atmosphere of realism which rubs off on our visitors

We have a complete travelling traders tent, cooking equipment and hundreds of props. For an outdoor site the tent makes a fabulous focus for visitors. The smell of the fire and cooking really catches peoples attentions.

We are used to spreading out over a site, to give visitors something new in each room they go to. We shape our story to fit your site, so our part fits in with your history.

We converse in the first person to give visitors a taste of the language and to re-create the feel of the times.

We can teach visitors how to sing Tudor songs and if you have the space we can also teach Tudor dances. Surprisingly it doesn't take long, but does give a good climax to a visit and provides plenty of photo opportunities.

We work extensively with children and adults - so all your visitors gain something. There are lots of opportunities to touch, handle, even dress-up - this is a complete interactive visitor grabbing event.

Members of our group take part in events at Shakespeare's Globe, the Annual Tudor Re-creations at Kentwell Hall in Suffolk, do work and presentations for English Heritage, the Mary Rose Trust, annual events in Stratford upon Avon and many others, giving a wealth of experience and knowledge in the Tudor re-creation field.
