Named after a 1615 ballad, this programme contains music from the Tudor and Jacobean periods, including a medley of lutesongs, broadside ballads, theatre songs, madrigals, consort songs, divisions, masque music, dances and a penitential psalm. As ever, it is a collection of music that we take delight in and hope you do too – we make no excuse for the jumble!
