Huge D Day event on the 10th, 11th and 12th September 2004. To be held in Poulton, Morecambe. Lancashire. Major General Sir Jeremy Moore the leader of the taskforce on the Falkland Islands will be leading the 1940's military convoy - this convoy will be carrying Veterans from Normandy and taking them to the Cenataph. The British Army have lent us Military bands to lead the re-enactors. Come and see a town under allied/axis control. Hopefully there will be a steam train from Morecambe to Carnforth - the platform with the clock from the film 'Brief Encounter'. There is a display from the 'Red arrows', and the Battle of Britain fly past. We are hoping to stage a simulated Normandy landing on the beach at Morecambe. There will be all the usual events, G.I Jives, stalls and displays etc. Refreshments - Jives - Jitterbugs - Street entertainers - Field Hospitals - Military vehicles displays - Red Arrows - Rides - Simulated Battles - Education area's - Stalls - Static Displays - 1940's Fancy dress - Winston Churchill - Patton and loads more............... We welcome, Re-enactors, Street entertainers, Static displays, Military vehicles, Field hospitals, Bands, childrens entertainers, 1940's/Military Stall holders (no charge), and anything else to do with a themed 1940's Wartime Weekend.

We are on the look-out for amphibious vehicles and would be pleased to hear from anyone who would like to help with our simulated Normandy Beach landing. We are always open to suggestions and ideas from you all. All emails will be answered. Or if you wish to phone please don't hesitate.
Anyone wishing to attend with Military vehicles should let us know in advance and we can then arrange parking and camping facilities. |
