HELENA BONHAM CARTER
--Helena was born on . She's from well-born English prominent
families. She's the great-granddaughter of Lord Herbert Asquith and the grand-daughter of Lady
Violet Bonham Carter and also, grand niece of Anthony Asquith. Growing up was sort of
hard for Helena because it was usually plagued with tragic events. Her mother Elena, would
suffer nervous breakdowns (don't worry, fans. She's alright now.), while her father, Raymond, suffered
a massive stroke, that made him partially blind. This sort of gave Helena a push to take
over her future when she was about 13 years old. She actually "thumbed" through the the
yellow pages for an agent to represent her. She got her first acting when she was 15, doing
a commercial. When she was 18, just having worked on "A Pattern of Roses", wherein she
played Netty (you have to wait for twenty minutes to see her, but it's well worth it!),
Trevor Nunn picked Helena to play the part of Lady Jane Grey, whose character he was making a
movie about. Helena was about to take a college entrance exam when she sort of "postponed"
it for this movie, after the persistent Trevor asked her to. And, the part was hers.
After "Lady Jane" (her second film, but most fans would think that her first would
be this movie. Well, it's not. Her first movie appearance was in "A Pattern of Roses". Go rent
it now!), she worked on the movie:"A Room with a View", an adaptation of E.M. Forester's novel.
Her movies are as follows (and if I were you, start going to the video store.):"Maurice", "Howard's End",
"Where Angels Fear to Tread", "Hamlet", "Twelfth Night".
But, just a reminder: Helena isn't only good at playing "corseted" characters. She played
Woody Allen's wife in "Mighty Aphrodite" and "Margaret's Museum".
Her recent movies: "The wings of the Dove", "Theory of Flight" and the last year released
movie: "Fight Club" with Edward Norton. And also, a film will be released with her in it,
called "Women Talking Dirty".
CARY ELWES
--Cary Elwes was born on October 26, 1962 in London, England.
Cary is the youngest in his family, which contains his parents and elder brothers Steven Cassian Elwes(who is also an
actor) and Dusan Damian Elwes (who's a painter.). Cary's parents actualy eloped in real life
when they er forbidden to wed (think I've hard of this plot before, eh?). But, as they say, all's
well that ends well (umm.. is that it?). They divorced when Cary was still young and his mother
remarried Elliot Kastner, while his real father died in 1975.
Cary lived most of his life in London, but he moved to America in the 1980s to New York and then LA.
Even at a young age, Cary already loved films. He used to work as a projectionist in his school
and he has a love of history and was actually his best subject in school.
Incidentally, now, Cary is living with his faincée Lisa-Marie Kurbikoff in Malibu.
"Lady Jane" was Cary's 5th film.
