Pitches are all marked up - so stop messing with me!!

It is fine and dry here - the site is on a well drained flat top of a hill, the grass is mown and the sun is shining. Any gloomy forecasts ignore! It is not for this area - it is to the north.

We have the BBC coming on Sunday to view Lady Godiva (lady of the manor of Chetwynd) - plugs on radio and newspapers - so all set.

So get a grip and lets make this a good one!!

Good morning all!

It is raining here in Shropshire - what a surprise! But we have had a largely dry week and a lovely sunny day yesterday so we don't envisage any setting up problems (apart from getting wet!)

As a precaution we have changed access to the field for Traders and Re-enactors to the SECOND entrance. It is signposted. This is to avoid too much traffic in one place.

The ground is firm and sandy so drains really well.

I would suggest arrival towards afternoon as the forecast is better later on.

Robin has gone to fetch the beer - so the beer tent will be open from 6.00pm!

We had a lovely weekend, with lots and lots of sunshine!

Shame so many people let Robin and Joanna down, hope it doesn't put them off bothering to stage this event next year. I'll post some photos later when I get a chance.

Best wishes
David

Many many thanks to all you wonderful Traders that helped keep the show on the road!!

Despite some terrible rain on Friday for set up - the weekend was largely dry and sunny (apart from a shower at pack down, of course).

You are stars!

Back home now from a lovely event. It was great despite the occasional shower and the 4"O"clock rain which seems to be standard now. Well done Robin and Joanne for all your hardwork. See you soon.

Arrived home at 3.30 this afternoon and - woohoo - managed to park the van right outside the house. Too tired to unload it today, will all get done tomorrow, and the van goes back on Wednesday when I should get my own car back again.
Thanks to Joanna and Robin for a most enjoyable weekend in spite of the rain, the mud, the traders who didn't make it etc etc..... well done to the pair of you, we had a great time.
We're really hoping there'll be another one next year.

Hi all,

Really pleased you all had a fun weekend , we still haven't got a van that works but fingers crossed that will be rectified tomorrow

Was gutted to miss your event and I've heard a rumour this year was the last one ? Is this true ?

Will see you both soon

All the best

It's possible that it might be the last one apparently - but there is hope yet...... think you'll just have to wait and hope.....
There may not have been a lot of us there this time, but we still had a great weekend.
Hope to see you around somewhere sometime (breakfast always ready if ever you need any again....)
Sorry you couldn't make it....and actually, we ended up with a big space beside our little red and white tent where you were to have been.....
