Couldn't have said it better! This weekend has been absolutely AMAZING; I think probably the most fun I've had at a battle actually. I've spent this morning looking through photos and really can't wait for next year now.

The organizers really did go the extra mile, everything seemed to run so smoothly, and I really wasn't expecting a firework show at the end! :D The volunteers and water-carriers were absolute life-savers too, I really can't speak highly enough of them.

Oh, and for anyone who didn't make it off-site at all this weekend, I'd highly recommend the Templar's Retreat pub, just down the road from the pageant grounds. The landlord there, Billy, is a cracking guy! A few of us showed up outside of food-serving hours a couple of times but he still rustled us up a few steaks. He even popped down the next morning and made a £50 donation.

A massive thank you to everyone who took part in the show, thanks to Geoff for all his hard work and drive over the years that have allowed us to keep the show going, the kitchen staff as always were magnificent  An especial thank you to Ewick who stood in to take over the responsibility of the microphone - a task most of us couldn't be paid to do :o The improvements to the artillery platform were as big a surprise to me as anyone, without Toby the improvements to the site just wouldn't happen. I'm currently sitting in Toby and Lisa's lounge after a FANTASTIC roast lamb dinner (thanks Lisa) and getting wrapped around a few bottles of red  after which I'm back to the site - most people have now left the site, a few after being helped off with the Landy  and I'm waiting for a break in the weather so I can pack down in the dry (says he hopefully !)

The battles went according to plan both days much to Ewicks surprise - apart from someone who kept firing a big pole cannon from the gatehouse at him (oops that was me and I'm still in lurve with that particular piece of ordinance  ) a big thank you to the Marshals and Water Bearers without whom we couldn't put any sort of battle on

Thanks to everyone involved:- the local helpers, the numerous re-enactors who arrive early and are unstinting in their aid when requested, the team who run the show, the re-enactors who come from far and wide in this country and from abroad. All of whom help to make the show what it is a family friendly fun event.

All that's left to say is same time next year :D :D

Oh btw, I heard mention during the event that someone had filmed the battles. Does anyone know if these videos are available online anywhere? :)

As far as I know the filming was done by individual groups not any of the professional photographers but I'll ask around for you.
