The organizers really did go the extra mile, everything seemed to run so smoothly, and I really wasn't expecting a firework show at the end!
The volunteers and water-carriers were absolute life-savers too, I really can't speak highly enough of them.Oh, and for anyone who didn't make it off-site at all this weekend, I'd highly recommend the Templar's Retreat pub, just down the road from the pageant grounds. The landlord there, Billy, is a cracking guy! A few of us showed up outside of food-serving hours a couple of times but he still rustled us up a few steaks. He even popped down the next morning and made a £50 donation.
An especial thank you to Ewick who stood in to take over the responsibility of the microphone - a task most of us couldn't be paid to do 
The improvements to the artillery platform were as big a surprise to me as anyone, without Toby the improvements to the site just wouldn't happen. I'm currently sitting in Toby and Lisa's lounge after a FANTASTIC roast lamb dinner (thanks Lisa) and getting wrapped around a few bottles of red 
after which I'm back to the site - most people have now left the site, a few after being helped off with the Landy 
and I'm waiting for a break in the weather so I can pack down in the dry (says he hopefully !)
