Brilliant, but, sad re-enactor that I am, I did think it was about books that had dirt on them! (This is the same reason that, when I first used the Internet, when 'Puritan Sex' came up I thought it would be a learned paper about ... well, just what it said. I didn't expect to get pages of a very saucy nature that wouldn't close down - as I was at a friend's house it was quite embarrassing to have to ask how to get out of it! Perhaps I'm just naive!)

Hmmm, innocence versus computer search engine...
I once had to get the ex to get rid of endlessly overleafed porn, which I could not "x goodbye", when I tried to look up a group of nudist runners who had just been featured racing at what looked like " naked Joe's oyster farm" ( don't ask) where we used to take students to learn about fish farming, many years ago. I had only wanted to ask if it was there they had held the race...
It got more and more hard core as you left each page for another, and I was getting more and more stressed as my little girl was wondering why I was calling louder and louder for her Daddy to come and help, so was not wanting to stay at the other end of the living room.
Suffice it to say, I am a lot more careful what key words I use to search with these days.

The words words "puritan" and "sex" pretty much sums up most of the interweb. Half of it being porn and the other half religious tracts by fundementalists

It is my experience that the most interesting (by a certain definition of 'interesting', which is not always erotic) is found via the most mundane searches.

I once stumbled upon a site dedicated entirely to naked Japanese amputees whilst looking for something like hurdy-gurdies or social banditry. I have since tried to find the site again (to show other people m'lud), but have never managed to, even when using relevant search terms.
...and further this Informant saith not.

Red rag to a bull that is....

All perfectly fine. I'll even post the results:

And that's with safe search turned off.
