HELP NEEDED!

Hi there,

I'm reaching out and asking if anyone in the Bristol/Bath/Stroud area has a couple of broadswords that I may loan/borrow for the 19th - 22nd of April. The use of these swords is for symbolic reasons and would be kept in their scabbards. The event is a Rites of Passage weekend for teenage boys. Written below is a brief description of who I am and what we do. If you are able to help us out then please reply to me by email : craigbesant@hotmail.com.


My name is Craig Besant and I'm a member of a an organisation called JourneymanUK which is a unique mentoring organisation. Dedicated to supporting boys aged 13 to 17 in discovering their potential as they navigate the choppy waters of adolescence, we enable communities to skilfully take responsibility for helping their boys and young men become the adults they want to be.

At its best, Journeyman UK enables men and boys to discover their unique potential and apply their gifts in service to themselves, each other and their community at large.

Trained men practice and model positive adult male behaviours so boys can practice the art of being men in a safe, supportive and highly nurturing environment. It’s a bit like an apprenticeship in growing up.

Please don't take this personally Royaloak, but if people don't know you, they may be a little wary of loaning you something which is not only pretty valuable, but also a personal attachment sort of a thing.
And you asked for two of them.
Most people only have one. ( of a particular type).
At a time when a lot of fellows who have them may well be needing them for a show.
Best of luck with your project, maybe some other symbolic item could be found for the purpose-
Can people suggest what represents "coming of age" to the modern man? ( keep it clean please!).

Bristol Old Vic costume andprop hire dept should be able to supply you with 'nonmechanical' swords which would serve your purpose.
