They say if you can remember the 60s......

Postby yggdrasil » Mon Feb 20, 2012 4:01 pm

Has anyone started re-enacting the 1960s yet? The reason I ask is that I have discovered a suitcase with two genuine original minidresses in, that I can remember buying and wearing when I was half the size I am now :)
Alternatively, can anyone advise where such things could be sold?

Of course there are some who never left the 1960's in the first place..not me I might add as I was a teenager in the 70's.....not sure if that's better or worse.

A lot of fashion in the shops now is reverting to quite a 60's style so I'd be surprised if you had trouble selling it anywhere but if it's original and in good nick I'd try and command a higher price for it if I were you.
Why can't life be simple?

There are lots of vintage clothing shops which wold fight over them in and around Brick Lane in London. We have sold the contents of a friends aunt's wardrobe to some lovely friendly people up there and they pay a decent and fair rate we have found. We have a daughter who lives nearby so are up there quite often. If you are not able to get there we could take them for you if you wanted. We could meet at ILHF or TORM or something. PM if you are interested.

Just noticed - you are from Worcester. We are often up that way too as we have a relative living in Bewdley. Alice the huswyfe can vouch for us. And yes - I can remember the 60's and I was there - but in Northern Ireland where the 60's were a decade or two late arriving.
