Is it too early for Christmas??

Postby Tom H » Sun Oct 23, 2011 3:30 pm

It's still over two months off, but much of the preparation at work and in hobby life is already tied up with Christmas, with piles of stuff for different events appearing in the living room, kitchen and spare room at home.

I've got three weeks of Tudor Yuletide at work, starting on 21st November (!) then a week of Christmas in the Workhouse (Victorian), in weekends in between these I'm doing a medieval Christmas event at Norton Priory and another at the Grosvenor Museum in Chester, also doing two days of Victorian Christmas storytelling at Quarry Bank Mill and attending Ludlow as a MOP. Also doing a Tudor Christmas event in Tilston church and a Wassail with local mummers too. Phew!

So what have people got planned, despite all of the above, I'm still hoping to catch a couple of events that other people are doing if possible, there's usually some great atmospheric events going on in this wintry season.

Also doing a lot of Victorian Christmas events, looking forward to it, so also feel as though I'm a month ahead of myself! Also going very home made again this year so the house smells good...lots of spice and orange and I'm doing the Christmas cake at present which I always enjoy.

We're touring a Victorian Christmas show to theatres and arts centres featuring festive stories, a mummer's play and loads of carols (some well-known and some not so well-known). Have a look at www.avictorianchristmas.org if you're interested!

We're also doing a couple of shows for Black Knight Historical over at Holkham Hall on the last weekend in November and the first weekend in December and also have a few murder nights going out.
