Indeed a lovely man, taken far too soon.
We chatted at a few shows. Last time we met him he was one of the hardy few at Macclesfield - skulked with him in the van while waiting for the rain to ease, nipping out in short bursts to pick out a few more bottles off the stall.
He gave me one of his little coins which has pride of place on my mantlepiece (along with some from Archeon).
Up to now tho, I have bought a few of his lovely bottles but can't bring myself to open them (including a couple of Goblin's Fire) - they look far too pretty to break the seal (have sampled tho, so I know the contents are de-lish). I have them lined up in the frontroom & had been contemplating recently.....
If there's any consolation, at least he went quickly, doing something that made him happy. Many of us will not be so lucky
Cracked open a bottle of no-name stuff instead to his memory - really no way that I can open any of these ones now.
Hope there's lots of mead where he's gone....
