With no Camlann this year it might be the only chance Arthur has got to have a go at Mordred...
An Open Day is to held on Saturday 17th July, with weekend camping, at the Arthurian Centre, Slaughterbridge which is just a few miles from Tintagel. The day, organised by Joe Parsons, is to launch the not-fot-profit North Cornwall Heritage. Edwin Deady from the BPAS/St Columb Medieval Archers is organising the re-enactment displays which will consist of archaelology from the excavations of a 13C village, LH from that era, skirmishing and have-a-go archery. There will be invited guests and it is being advertised locally and not likely to be a big event this year, although this could change in the future. 'There is an empty spot left by vanished Camlann so I see no reason why we couldn't make it annual' says Edwin.
At the moment, this is a small open day; there are no traders as of yet, although they are welcome to attend and more re-enactors would be most welcome to boost numbers and displays. Participants are therefore invited to trade, display further 13C LH/archaeology, archery and skirmishing/fight displays. Please contact Edwin as soon as possible for further details and registration (including current £5m PL insurance) on:
