CHASING SPAMMERS FROM THE MEMBERLIST

Having overhauled the Buy and Sell area, the moderators are now clearing the spammers and robots from the memberlist. This is to save Cal, the Forum Master, from having to fund unnecessary bandwidth to accomodate deadwood.

This is a big job - not just becuase of the size of the list and how crafty spammers are (with sleepers, false posts of copied text, pencil lasers and underground hide-outs with shark pools etc), but also because we have a lot of shyer members who like to just look at the monkey cage instead of joining in.

IF YOU ARE A MEMBER WHO LIKES TO READ THE POSTS BUT HAS NEVER MADE A POST THEMSELVES, PLEASE HELP US.

Observer members - "lurkers" - are very welcome, even if you have never posted. However, it is at times hard for us to tell a non-posting genuine observer and a false identity that will be later used to spa the forum. In some cases you are easy to spot as 'real' becuase of your chosen member name. But not always. It would make life very, very much easier (and avoid mistakes made in good faith) if you could either make a post, or if you prefer to retain your privacy, PM me so that we know to leave you on the active list.

Veteran posters (Jorge!) who are presently lurking need not apply. You are hostages to fortune and we own your souls, so save yourself a PM.
