There is an opportunity for medieval traders to show their wares at Tutbury Castle's Medieval Christmas weekend, December 4th & 5th.
You can trade from your tent, or we have the indoor option in their Wedding Marquee.
Tent pitches just £25 for the weekend, indoor tables (some 20 or so still available at the moment) are £60 (reflecting hire cost of premises, heating, electric etc)
"Tutbury Castle for the first time in 2010 is opening its doors for a fabulous medieval Christmas weekend to be enjoyed by the whole family. The Great Hall and King's bedroom will be garlanded in holly, ivy, mistletoe and cascading red ribbons. A feast will be laid out in the Great Hall showing accurate traditional recipes of food enjoyed of the day, and even an opportunity for the grown ups to try a traditional glass of wassail ale (spiced apple juice for the children).
Mummers and musicians will entertain you with a nativity play of the late medieval period. These candlelit two days, we believe, will be amongst the most romantic and beautiful that the castle has ever staged in recent years.
The tea room will be serving mince pies, both modern and traditional and a range of hot treats, including mulled wine."
