Medical Charts - For Cosmeston Medieval Village

Postby Frances Perry » Tue Apr 07, 2009 9:54 pm

Just finished and sent off two medical charts commissioned by Nick Coles of the Cosmeston Medieval Village in Wales. Both are 0.5 meters x 0.5 meters on treated canvas, with acrylic paint and calligraphy ink.

The first is a uroscopy chart closely based upon the 1100 Gutun Owain Welsh medical chart, but with latin translation.

The second chart is based upon vein / blood-letting charts, both from 1100 Gutun Owain, but with old English translations from the 1486 York Barber Surgeons Guild medical chart.

Great work, once again. Pity the poor individual who passes black urine (or red/blue/etc.)!

Thanks very much all! They were a bit of a labour of love really - hated to post them out at the end! Hope they get well used at Cosmeston. :D

Not your p*ss chart omae, I wasn't trying to claim credit for that, I did one of those zodiac things.
It looks like something a rank amature who wasn't to skilled at writing or drawing but wanted to have the information might have.
Which is about right for me.
