Does anyone know anything about this person ? I found out about him from a song but the 'net doesn't throw up much when you do a search and I only have a very sketchy profile of him......

You'd be surprised at how many people apparently interested in the period and in Ireland have not heard of the man, or the song.... :? Googling the rest of the characters is fruitless..."Lord Kildare" gets a million different sites, all irrelevant !
I'd like to find out more about him, I don't want to have to go to Carlow to do it...

that is indeed the right man.

kildare would be the "name" of gerald fitzgerald, the earl of kildare on the same way that english tudor nobles were referred to by their estates, ie edward stafford was buckingham, thomas boleyn was wiltshire, thomas howard was norfolk, etc etc.
