Its worth being on the Croft mill mailing list as well, no e-shop but the list periodically has excellent fabrics for our use, though most of no real interest on a day to day basis, I've had some absolutely perfect wools and linens from them over the years. Just a case of keeping your eye open for one of their specials

Gonna post a thread about this anyway, but thought I might as well put this in here, as it fits.

Abimelech Hainsworth now have a factory shop. It's just around the corner from the mill, on Town Street in Stanningley, near Leeds.

Not been myself, but Nige went at the weekends, and they have lots of stuff - blankets and assorted other bits, and of course, cloth - from approx. 8.50 - 11.50 incl. vat, according to Nige (serious bargain!!)

Still worth making an appointment with sally or david if buying in bulk, but the prices at the shop are way cheaper although obviously the ranges will be more limited.

have used them now, for something I couldn't find anywhere else. tand looked closer at the site. the range is actually quite limited (far more so than some of the other places listed above), and they're actually quite pricey.

Can be pricey but quality good. I use Ali, Bernie et al for most needs but these guys speciallise in untreated linen/flax. If you need something special, heavy or coarse (maybe for a jack) they have some great stuff (they keep all sorts of grades as they supply for clothing and theatrical/TV/film/museum use). They send swatches in post.

Also picked up some unbleached linen in IKEA this weekend. Not shirt weight but ok for rough stuff (bags, light-use jacks etc). Just £3.69 a metre.

Just gor a fantastic cobalt blue and french roast coloured velvets and they are brilliant.

I saw some swatches of their Melton last week, in an array of surprising colours. Very nice; I found myself wondering what I could possibly use bright purple, or a delicate - but penetrating - lilac melton for.
