RAF "Great Coat" Question

I've just got back from a funeral, and the oldies were reminiscing. Apparently in 1948 my mother was working in a factory where one of her jobs was to sew an arm on to an airforce greatcoat, another girl did the otherone and then she's fairly certain they went straight to have the buttons put on - no lining. But she's not sure, and it's one of those little gaps in the memories that cause a niggle. Could someone tell me if 1940s Airforce gratcoats had a lining. (There was only one ex-RAF guy at the "do", he couldn't remember, his dad pinched it as soon as he was de-mobed to use as a blanket)

I've not read any Pratchett either, but I try (and fail miserably ) to do the Grauniad cryptic crossword and so I'm used to stringing / splitting words into their constituent parts.....

Ah, In some of his books there are three witches. In threes of females the classic is: the Maid (virgin) the Mother (not, obviously) and The Other One (Hag).


Pratchett's books are, on a level, parodies/pastiches of other books you will/may have read.

Isn't Pratchett a fantasy writer? I've never really been interested by his books, though I've never actually picked one up and looked at one before.

More 'Satire' than 'fantasy'. Do read them they are very funny.
