The War Papers - replica WWII newspapers.

Postby Stuart Quayle » Mon Aug 06, 2012 8:27 am

I have for sale a total of 59 (issues 1 to 59 incl. of 'The War Papers' newspapers subscription) superb replica copies of WWII newspapers, ideal for WWII re-enactment groups, taking right through World War II.
Some of the replicas lie inside an outside slip giving background details on topics covered inside the newspapers, the publishers include - the Daily Mirror; The Evening Standard; Daily Sketch; Daily Telegraph etc. Some of the issues contain copy propaganda posters issued during WWII.

I am wanting £59+pp for this collection. Photos attached.

Do you have the newspapers with the results of the General Election in 1945? If so, I would be interested in those only.

Hi Henri, issues 55 and 56 deal with the resignation of Churchill and his government and the handing over of power to the Labour Party, all fascinating stuff!

Mind you, the article about Monty banning his troop from buying Ice Cream caught my attention, risk of catchng Typhus don't you know!

Seriously though, you open the top covers and you are looking at facsimiles of the real newspapers, some of the domestic non-war related news articles are truly shocking and the violence very sad and could easily come from todays newspapers. Riveting reading.

I am really wanting to sell the 59 issues as one lot. How about a price drop to £30+pp, that's only 50p per issue or thereabouts. Perfect props for WWII re-enactors :)
