The mysterious case of the vanishing BOTWOTS

Postby Phoenix Rising » Sun Jan 08, 2012 11:12 pm

Just curious, but does anyone know what's happened to the 'Best of Times, Worst of Times' (BOTWOT) group that used to re-enact the life and times of the Border Reivers in the North East of England? Believe they were based in Redcar and were originally called the 'Steel Bonnets'. Saw them last year at Hawick Reiver's festival and again at the Morpeth Gathering, but since then their website seems to have folded and googling comes up with nothing apart from old articles about them from past event they have participated in.

All best,

No connection with the Reiver group at Buitel tower.

We can put you in touch with them. Last time we spoke at the markets they were doing more 18th century stuff but they are still around and still active.

email me at reiver_trading@btinternet.com
or graham.cooley1@btinternet.com

and we can pass anything you want on to them.

Cheers Graham, was just really wondering if they were indeed still going, with their website being down. If you woul next time you see them could you ask them if they intend to put up another website or not?

All best,

Hi Phoenix Rising :D ,

New to this site but have been a re-enactor for many years and now a member of BOTWOT. We are still very much alive and kicking but no website. However we do have a Facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/groups/184244808264085/ We are looking into getting a new website set up but don't know when that will be. Our Facebook page has details of our shows etc. Thanks for your interest in the group :)
