Berkeley Skirmish- thoughts

Postby plantychrisb » Tue Jul 17, 2012 9:56 pm

Just a few lines to thank you all for your neverending support, friendship and love after one of the most traumatic weeks of my life. I'm afraid I can't describe the hurt except to say its still very raw. Its been a dreadful time for all. My thoughts also are with Emily Burns of English Heritage. She's probably hurting too.
So, thank you all. Its an honour to know you all and be counted as a friend. We will be back, I promise.

I have the greatest respect for people who put their energy, money and love into organising events for us ungrateful reenactors to turn up to.
The tireless work you all have to put in is genuinely appreciated and I hope that you are back next year as great as ever.

we could tell how much it hurt from your voice when you announced it at Commanders meeting at Tewkesbury Chris. I thought you were going to get crushed by everyone rushing forward to hug you but being big butch re-enactors no one wanted to be first. When you are back - we will be too.

All I can say is a big hug to all the crew and I'm sure you'll be back bigger and better

Yep, it must be hard enough work building up to the event anyway, and I imagine you are still dealing with the aftermath. Clearly the right decision though. Hope you get back on an even keel and looking forwards soon.
