Hi everyone, hope the season is going well for all of you and the Big events are now starting to roll in and to cheer you up here are the warning orders for Harewood House ( Yes I know its in Yorkshire), a brilliant new site for all of us to show yet again how good we are and there is plenty to do and see there.
The event is organised by Howard Giles Eventplan and yet again he states its because what we deliver is of the highest quality so don't let him (or us) down.
Points to note.
Arrival time is from Noon on Thursday 28th if you are earlier you are likely to spend time waiting
This is a new private site and is also new to our period
Although the site is animal friendly, ALL dogs to be kept on a lead at ALL times
This is a joint event with Livery & Maintenance and those groups who are members of both organisations need to let Steve and myself know whether you are attending under the FED or L&M banner (you can't do both)
Yorkist in camp 11, Lancastrians in camp 12 (please check the plan in the orders) if no preference then either
Evening entertainment : Friday & Saturday evening entertainments (in/adjacent to The Tavern, real ale bar & “Banqueting Hall”) include the Grinnigogs on Friday evening, and Celtarabia and Medieval Maniax on Saturday. We'd ask please that all re-enactors coming to the tavern etc during the evening wear medieval kit (or semblance of it) rather than modern or otherwise non-medieval kit so as to help preserve the (inevitably partial) medieval ambience. Please don’t comment too loudly about any event visitors wearing not terribly convincing "costume" if they do (as it’s their evening out too).
Visit the excavations of Harewood’s original medieval manor house, Gawthorpe Hall
Guided tours to Harewood’s medieval church and castle by estate staff
Medieval market
Finale is the Battle of Dintingdale on a battlefield that offers scope for plenty of movement, action, special effects and a great end to the day
