Flodden 2013

For your diary. 3/4 August 2013 will be the big Flodden 1513/2013 event. Location Etal, Northumberland. It's planned to put on the biggest event of its kind ever held in the area. Supported by the Ford and Etal Estate and the local communities we hope to put on a large Living History encampment with displays and a battle. Traders will be very welcome.

This year’s event is being held on the 1/2 September at the same location, this is a taster event to promote the large event in 2013. It has already gained huge amounts of local support and will be run over the week end. On the Sunday it will be held in parallel with local show which already attracts up to 1500 visitors. Re-enactors wanting to come should contact me as we have set up a new group (Armet) to help you with kit, insurance etc. Group leaders should also contact me.

I will be at the Kedleston Hall event in two weeks and at Kelmarsh in July where I will be giving a lecture on Flodden and how we plan to commemorate it in 2013. If you want to come and chat I will be camped with Lace Wars (1745 Jacobite Rebellion).

Its Derek we spoke a couple of weeks ago on the phone regards Alan Brecks . I would be greatly interested in this ,it would be great to be involved in a bigger event .
