Celtic mirror and comb

Postby Ganderwick » Sun Jun 10, 2012 10:51 pm

Just finished our latest projects which are reproductions of the Trelan Bahow mirror and the bronze comb found at Tanworth-in-Arden.
The mirror is plain polished bronze on the back. The comb is a lot shinier than in the picture and is the same colour as the mirror.

Beautiful mirror!
Polishes polishing pastes bought in a shop or do they?
I sometimes .... rarely, because it's a lot of work, hand-polished stuff you do with a paste of wood ash, soot and tallow wild.
This is best out on the elements of simple type necklaces, daggers, swords.
This necklace and bracelet, with pictures, polished a few hours.

I attended a Victorian weekend one weekend back in the 1980's in Tanworth. Is the village still as small as it was then (or has it been merged with another village nearby)
