It was awesome, my only complaint was the fact I got sun burnt waiting at muster!
It may help to understand human affairs to be clear that most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused, not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, but by people being fundamentally people

yeah the sun always manages that, on the field it was ok but waiting at muster for 35mins to get on it was getting a bit toastie. you get any decent chance to fight one on one at the end?

it didn't break. it sounded quiet good I hope. unlike john allans which sounded good but is now slightly broken.

the new van was far quicker to pack and get home too.

lovely weekend spent with wythe and the fauconbergs reminded of the sort of event that got us interested in this 10+ years ago.

and lovely to see john again too

(didn't get to the beer tent at all though partially due to flooding)

Soggy, muddy but fun weekend - worth it all, mind. One of ours is nursing sunburn! Much thanks and credit to the organisers for a] putting on the event and b] the excellent way the problems were overcome. Well done to all

See you there next year. :)

Had a fantastic time on the Sunday (great weather - blazing sunshine during the battle), spent lots of money, ate well, drank well and my little nephew and niece loved it. I actually had a better experience (as a visitor) than last year. Another big thank you to the organisers for doing such a great job in adversity.

Great to meet Morgun and spend time with so many mad gunners. Awesome organisation and preparation for the worst. Brilliant work Tewkesbury crew. Jon's Margaret does need a little bit of attention to the woodwork. Managed to break the bolt holding the elevating section to the end of the trail and also one of the bands which holds her into her bed and the backstop. I think he was trying to make her louder that a certain new piece... The swivel (Frangine) actually had a small problem develop too but we know a nice Iron Dwarf who is already planning to do the necessary work over the Midfest weekend. Meanwhile, anyone got a nice 15th C cannon they don't want? (Seriously - if anyone hears of anything for sale, let me know please).

We went as MOPs on Sunday afternoon, and had a brilliant time. For those who want chapter and verse it was a little smaller and a lot muddier than previous years, but the atmosphere was great! Well done all.

Great event as usual even with all the problems, everything possible done to fix them. Including moving everyone from the "Battlefeild" side of the site so quickly, went done to the market for an hour or so, and got back to the gunners camp to find the large area of grass that had seperated the to camps on Lincon green lane was full of tents.
Morgan worked nicely, but the best bit for me was the looks of terror, when we changed sides with Her on Sunday. Seams all the gunners etc had fun, and was nice to have us all in one place.
again a BIG THANK YOU to ALL THE CREW AT TEWKES for keeping the Festival going, roll on next year....

We decided to relocate as whilst having a river side property was nice on Friday but started to get a bit close for comfort on Saturday. Good battle on Sunday even it was a bit odd not being in a bill block.

great event and thanks to the volunteers and staff for all the hard work
only 2 slight annoyances over the weekend, an abusive idiot who has now identified himself and the driver of a large van who did not want to wait for 45 mins in the queue to get onsite to load his stock like the rest of us had to and jumped the queue to force his way through ( hope security got the details passed on so that person is not there next year )
forges, fireboxes tools and more.

It was a wee bit worrying as The Mem's stall was next to the Floody Meadows jetty (It stopped being a bridge around sat evening), the water was creeping up all sat and sun but it still had two foot (vertically) to go by the time we bugged out on Sun. Twas great fun despite the rain fri and sat, sundays sunshine was very welcome and made for a splendid sight sparkling off the lake that was the Ex battlefield andlapping at the edges of Lower Lode on the way out. A big thank you to organisers, crew, traders and 'nacters who all pulled together to make it so. Well done everyone, take yesterday off =o)
