Scottish reenactment groups wanted - 15 Sept 2012

Postby RottenCad » Mon Jun 25, 2012 4:50 pm

Hello all,

The Company of St Margaret is helping to organise a celebration of the 850th anniversary of Paisley Abbey on behalf of Renfrewshire Council. This will be a one-day event, held in the grounds of the Abbey, on Saturday 15th September. It is a paid event, and the fees are currently being negotiated; at present they should be similar to what Historic Scotland are paying us for Fort George - around £150/£200, for a one-day event. Again, I stress, that this is under negotiation, and that it's an approximate figure.

Also under negotiation is the timeline - I have put it to the organisers that having exemplars from different eras of the last 850 years would be A Good Thing, and I'm waiting to hear back from them some time next week.

If your group is interested in being part of this, please PM me, or contact The Company of St Margaret via costm@hotmail.co.uk. I look forward to hearing from, and working with, you soon.

TTFN!

Aj and Nicky are off kentwellying down south in that strange place with the big burning ball of fire in the sky called... eng-land, or something, right now, but I suspect that one or two of the Lothene ner'do-wells might be interested for later 16th C stuffage. I'll forward this on to them once they return to the 21st century.

Tempted myself, must say. though as ever, a shortage of actual time...

We wouldn't know, HS would surely have been in contact with you if you were going?

Re Fort George.
The event is still going ahead . At the moment there are only two members of staff running the unit instead of four. I am still the reenactment liaison for the event if you have any questions etc. chances are that if you were contracted last year then you will probably be so again this year.
Best wishes, Hugh Robertson, Living History Scotland
