Recommendations needed for black brunswickers uniform maker

Postby mattb » Tue Jan 17, 2012 8:44 pm

This is a bit out of my normal period. I'm getting married next year and would love to have a Napoleonic era black Brunswick officers or hussars uniform (basically something smart and fancy) as my wedding suit. Obviously I don't want to risk doing it all myself so can anyone recommend good tailors to approach for this. I've spoken to Farthingales already and am just trying to explore all options.

Hope someone can help!

Debbie Lough - posts on here as Tuppence. She made my hubby http://www.deborahloughcostumes.com/rifles.html this for a wedding a good number of years ago and I think has made a few more since. :D

A friend of mine has made for the 15th and a Brandenburg Hussars uniform. She might be up for it.

Angela Essenhigh at Seams historic is someone I'd heartily recommend for this kind of thing.
http://www.griffinhistorical.com. A delicious decadent historical trifle. Thick performance jelly topped with lashings of imaginative creamy custard. You may also get a soggy event management sponge finger but it won't cost you hundreds and thousands.

Don't know if the moments passed, Farthingales are making a Brunswick Dolman for me. They Have made me a fantastic Yellow and Sliver Barrel sash.
