Why Can't I See Pictures

Postby Colin Middleton » Tue Aug 14, 2012 12:59 pm

I've noticed that in some topics, there appear to be pictures missing from the posts. I can see the avatars and sometimes can see pictures that have been posted later, but there are people talking about photos in earlier posts that I can't see. Have I got something configured wrongly somewhere?

If I look at this post, the first entry (from Foxe) is blank http://www.livinghistory.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=30735, but I can see the photos in this post http://www.livinghistory.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=30327.

Why?

None of those images are hosted on this site, so perhaps your proxy is blocking some off-site sources, but not others.

You could try getting the url for the image (usually something like right-click,properties depending on your browser) and pasting it into a browser.

That should give you a message, which might explain why it can't fetch the image.

I can't even locate the images. But given how natzi our server is at work, that would explain it.

Yep, that works fine on a different PC.

Thanks for that.
