Roman Empire Maps

  cal   Sun Sep 19 1999   10:11:52
This map is from a brilliant site covering the Roman Empire compiled by De Imperatoribus Romanis. This site is part of the ORB library.

DIR

The site covers full indexes of Roman Emperors plus associated materials and a fascinating maps section which shows political structures from 100AD to 1400AD.

Plus interactive maps of Rome and Constantinople (where this particular shot is from) as well as maps of Britain during Roman occupation.

Stuart. There is no such thing as a picture of the assasination of Gn.J.C., it just wasn't possible at the time! Almost all the depictions are from the latter part of the 2nd millenium and mostly from the last century (usually Hollywood, who are not noted for accuracy). As things are this bad you can use what 'picture' you like [get some-one to do a sketch for you] but remember that the important things are the words - please DON'T get Wm.Shakespear involved, he was a playwright not a historian.
What reportage style are you going to use?
My thoughts would be sycophantic jingoist but somewhat in the style of the modern popular press. Lots of small words in short sentences with as much 'Shock','Horror', 'Blood Bath'and 'Sex'involved as possible.

My son has a literature project. HELP !!
This is the assignment.
Map of Rome: Julius Caesar, Marcus Brutus, Calpurnia, and Cassius Longinus were real people, and these things really happened in Rome. *(They just read the tragedy of Julius Caesar). Now they have to draw a map of the city of Rome as it existed in 44 B.C., and show the route Caesar traversed as he left for the Senate on the fateful day. HELP !! Does anyone have any leads? I would greatly appreciate any help. Just drop me an email.
Thanks, A Desperate Mom
